    Named for the pivotal year of the Battle of Mt. Defiance, our 1863 Red Blend honors the rich history of the land our cidery and distillery call home. Crafted to be both expressive and approachable, this Virginia red blend reflects both heritage and craftsmanship.

    1863 is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc, aged for 22 months to develop depth, structure, and balance. The extended aging allows the wine to integrate beautifully, resulting in a smooth and complex profile.

    In the glass, expect notes of dark cherry, blackberry, and plum, complemented by subtle hints of spice, oak, and soft tannins. Medium-bodied with a long, smooth finish, it’s a wine that pairs beautifully with charcuterie, roasted meats, aged cheeses, and hearty seasonal dishes.
